On this page you will find a list of patched OS for your Archos 5. At this moment we only include /usr/bin/avos in this package.

List of modifications
/usr/bin/avos
We modify /usr/bin/avos in the following way:
- Modified AOS_compare_SIGx_checksum() to allow any .aos file to be installed, whether it is validly signed or not.
- Modified verify_cramfs() to allow any .cramfs.secure file to be mounted, whether it is validly signed or not.
- Modified AOS_callback_compare_versions() to allow installing any .aos file, regardless of the version number (allow downgrading).
- Changed the update site from http://update.archos.com/update_archos5-7_daos.xml to http://archos.g3nius.org/updates/digest.xml
- Modified the validation routine to make sure any signature on the digest.xml file is considered valid.
